About Me

Dr. Obiajulu Kanu is a General and Interventional Nephrologist with dual board certifications in Nephrology and Internal Medicine. Graduating from the University of Nigeria in 2010, he continued his medical journey with a residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University, successfully completing it in 2018. Dr. Kanu further honed his expertise through a 2-year Nephrology fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he distinguished himself as a chief fellow.

Driven by an unwavering passion for Nephrology patients, Dr. Kanu is devoted to delivering exceptional, compassionate, and patient-centered care. His commitment extends to a keen interest in medical education and active involvement in clinical research. Professionally, he holds memberships with organizations, including the Renal Physician Association, National Kidney Foundation, American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology, and the American Society of Nephrology.

Outside of his medical pursuits, Dr. Kanu finds joy in spending quality time with his wife and three children. A dedicated enthusiast of UFC and Boxing, he is also cultivating a growing interest in American football. Dr. Kanu’s diverse interests reflect his dedication to both professional excellence and a fulfilling personal life.
